The core of Partners’ work is investing in high-quality, minority-led charter schools.

Partners provides varying levels of capital to minority-led charter schools and networks through staged investments based on organizational needs and goals. As a result, actual investments will vary across funded charter schools. Our charter school investments provide seed capital in the form of grants and loans to a small number of the most qualified applicants. Investments may be multi-year and entrepreneurs may use the funding in various ways; operations, supplemental strategic planning, instruction, professional development and training are just some examples of how the funds may be allocated.

Partners does not have any limits on the amount an entrepreneur can request. However, given the unrestricted uses of Partners’ investments, we urge applicants to think carefully about their funding request and to apply for the amount needed to facilitate their long-term success and help them meet or exceed their goals within the investment period. With the overwhelming need for funding within the charter school sector, the management team screens applications very carefully and only selects entrepreneurs who demonstrate the greatest potential to open or scale successful and sustainable charter schools in its due diligence process. It is important to note that actual investment amounts may vary from the amount requested, as the management team uses the due diligence process to determine financial need and assess risk, along with other factors that are considered in determining an investment decision and amount.
